The Friesenburg castle, located near the current Friesenbergstrasse, was once inhabited by the knightly family De Vriesenberch in the 13th century. Unfortunately, only individual wall parts remain today. In the years 1925-1930, an attempt was made to excavate and reconstruct the ruins, but more was destroyed than preserved.
