Daniel Bernoulli, a renowned mathematician and physicist, was buried in the St. Peter's Church in Basel after his death in 1782. His epitaph was crafted by the Bernese sculptor Johann Friedrich Funk. Interestingly, Bernoulli's father, Johann, had a strained relationship with him and even plagiarized his work, 'Hydrodynamica', by publishing it under his own name seven years earlier.
