The Stiftsbibliothek St. Gallen's manuscripts were saved from the Ungarneinfall in 926 by the Inklusin Wiborada, who had foreseen the attack and moved the manuscripts to the Insel Reichenau for safekeeping. Unfortunately, Wiborada herself was killed by the Magyars in her cell. She was later canonized as the patron saint of libraries and book lovers.
